OMS 25 debut for Willis
Trevor Willis drove his new car for 2011 - an OMS 25, at the first round of the Nicholson McLaren British Hillclimb Championship opening round at Prescott Hillclimb on Sunday 1st May. The build was completed in the week before the event and the car driven for the very first time in practice on the Saturday morning.
Fitted with a new PowerTec 3.2 litre V8 engine, the all new combination was competitive from the outset, posting a first practice time of 41.55 seconds. As Trevor settled into the car the times tumbled. In Sundays competition he qualified for both of the British Championship top 12 run offs, finishing in 3rd position in both rounds. Trevor's best time during the day was 37.64 seconds with fastest time of the day being set by Scott Moran at 36.99 seconds.
Trevor was rewarded for his excellent performance on the debut of his new car with the Midland Hillclimb Championship Man of the Meeting Award.
