Scottish Sprint Championship Update
There was a very healthy entry of 16 single seater drivers competing at Golspie in Rounds 4 & 5 of the Guyson Scottish Sprint Championship on Saturday and Sunday, with OMS drivers providing half the field in a variety of OMS cars: RA PR Hornet and 2000M.
The northern Scottish venue enjoyed fantastic weather throughout the weekend and some very healthy competition throughout the classes. On Saturday 16 year old John Munro continued his recent excellent form by taking another outright win in his shared 1000cc OMS 2000M by just under a second from his father Roy, making it an OMS one-two; with the next 4 placings all being separated by less than this margin.
The addition of two further drivers in the larger engined classes at the Sunday event simply added to the quality of the field, with the win finally going to George Coghill Junior in a Force 1400 followed closely by Saturdays winner John Munro in his GSXR 1000 powered OMS 2000M and John Mackenzie in his 1600 Busa engined 2000M variant. Fourth went to the young Jedi driver Louise Calder with Roy Munro rounding out the top 5.
