Gurston Down 21st and 22nd June

BARC South West hosted the 6th Tony Marsh Memorial Weekend featuring the SpireFM Midsummer Speed Fest. The meeting also included two rounds of the Gates of Brockenhurst Gurston Down Hillclimb Championship and BARC (SW) Top Ten Challenge.

A good entry of OMS cars competed across the weekend, with models ranging from an early rocker arm 1100cc spaceframe single seater in the hands of Stephen Loadsman. Kemp brothers Calum and Euan drove their 1100cc PR single seater, whilst fellow class competitors James Moore, Colin Le Galle and Richard Twinham drove their eponymous 2000M: all ran in the 1100cc racing car class .

OMS carbon fibre chassis cars included two CF04's driven by Neal Coles and Pete Hammock and the Ian Tucker CF08 who ran in the 1600cc racing car class. Racing cars up to 2 litres included Geoff and Chris Guille from Guernsey in the Vauxhall powered ex-Willis CF04 and Andy McBeath in the 1300cc supercharged OMS 25.

During Saturday's event Andy McBeath took 2nd Fastest Time of Day with his first timed run on 29.61 with Chris Guille 4th fastest on 29.86 again set on the first timed run. Sunday's event saw Chris improve on his previous day's placing, finishing 2nd FTD with his best time over the weekend of 29.68 seconds.
