Maiden Win with an Outright Hill Record
Canberra Hillclimb in Australia saw the debut of a brand new OMS single seater at the weekend..
The turbocharged Hayabusa powered OMS 28 owned and driven by Malcolm Oastler completed all five runs at its maiden event. He took it easy on his first practice run with a time of 41.16 seconds. Each subsequent run was faster and on the third and final class run of the day Malcolm posted a time of 37.45 to take the win with a new outright hill record: this record was previously held by a Gould GR55 at 37.65 seconds.
Congratulations Malcolm, a great result with the OMS 28 on its first event, it will be interesting to see what the car will do at future meetings. To view the meeting results click here.
