Guernsey Bank Holiday Monday

Competitors in the Channel Islands were once again at Les Val des Terres hillclimb on Guernsey for the meeting on Monday 4th May.

OMS regulars Charlie and Justin Smith along with Sarah Gaudion, were competing as usual in the 1600cc racing car class. Sarah suffered with a broken injector during practice and was only able to take the one run. It was replaced in time for the start of competitive runs, enabling her to take both timed runs. Justin set a new personal best time of 29.03 in the OMS 25. Given some warmer conditions he looks sure to make a sub 29 second run this year.

Three of the Guille family were also competing at the event. Geoff and Chris in the  2 litre OMS CF04 along with hillclimb returnee Jackie Le Cheminant driving in the 1100cc class with the OMS PR she shares with husband Ricky: this weekend Ricky was not entered. Jackie finished second in class with fellow OMS driver Alan Prevel in third. In the 2 litre class Chris Guille finished second on 29.82 seconds and his father Geoff in fourth.

Mark le Cras in the OMS SC1 was outgunned by the larger engined cars in the Sports Libre class. His 1000cc engine was not a match for other the larger capacity cars.
